How to use washing soda at home

Washing soda is best dissolved in warm to hot water. Typically 20g per litre is a good amount for general cleaning. This can be increase to 40-60g for bigger messes. Considered septic tank and waterway safe.

20g is approximately 1 Tablespoon.

Use in the laundry: Add extra oomph for pre-soaking very dirty clothing like sports gear, tea towels and grotty sneakers. Great for removing odours to the likes of dog bedding.

General cleaning: Add a few tablespoons to a bucket of hot water, this can be used to wipe down all hard surface areas that need a clean up. Think kitchen cabinets, walls, chilly bin & the old caravan. Can be mixed with Castile soap to aid cleaning. If you have sensitive skin you may wish to use gloves for more contact time.

Soaking to dissolve built up grime: Use 2-3 tablespoons in a container with 1-2 tablespoons Home cleaning castile soap. This is perfect for soaking oven trays and racks before giving a scrub. Can be used to help keep drains clear, dissolve 2-3 tablespoons in a small amount of hot water and pour down the drain, leave for an hour and flush with boiled water. Storage & Safety:

• Please remove your powder from the bag it arrives in and store airtight. Powders can clump so best stored air tight and away from humidity.
• Store your cleaners safely and clearly label all containers for identification. Dry ingredient labels are available for your home storage containers
• Strictly store out of reach of children and pets.
• The alkalinity of washing soda means that it may be a mild irritant if dust settles on your skin or gets up your nose. Avoid breathing in dust when decanting and if you are whizzing up laundry powder. Wash your hands after using

Washing soda is also called Sodium carbonate. Figgy & Co. Washing soda is the soda ash dense type of sodium carbonate.

This is the dry, concentrate powder form of washing soda – this is different to washing soda crystals that you can buy at the supermarket and hardware store. The crystals have a high water content – this means they are diluted compared to our dry concentrated powder, it also means in homemade laundry powder recipes what you make will be damp and clumpy, because of the water content in the crystals.

Available in 1kg and 3kg amounts. Packaged in a plain paper bag suitable for home compost or curb side recycling
