Baking soda is the perfect scrub for a natural home!
The great thing about Baking soda is how brilliantly it will scrub away hard stuck on grime. It's also magic at banishing odours that build up in our home. All this cleaning goodness comes with no toxic concerns for you or our waterways. It really has the go to safe and trusted cleaning staple for years.
Easy to use, simply sprinkle directly onto an area to be deodorised or given a gentle scour. Use in your DIY home cleaning recipes to make non-toxic home cleaning alternatives to what is offered in most stores.
Bicarb is a mildly alkaline mineral based cleaner. It gently and safely scrubs with harsh scratching and always gives reliable results. Use baking soda by itself, or mixed with water or castile soap.

How to use Baking soda at home
Make a soft scrub: Can be made in to a slurry with water or a paste with castile soap to make a very effective scrub cleaner for shower, bath, oven, sinks and marks on walls. Add the baking soda mix directly onto the area to clean, scrub and wipe up. For built up grime (oven) smear and leave to soften grime before starting to scrub, this will lessen the elbow grease needed.
Deodorise carpet: Sprinkle onto the area to be treated. Leave in place for an hour or more then vacuum up. Alternatively for a scent to be imparted, add a small amount of essential oil to your baking soda, then sprinkle this on your carpet as above.

Storage & Safety:
- Please remove your powder from the bag it arrives in and store airtight. Powders can clump so best stored air tight and away from humidity.
- Store your cleaners safely and clearly label all containers for identification. Dry ingredient labels are available for your home storage containers
- Strictly store out of reach of children and pets.
- Avoid breathing in dust when decanting and if you are whizzing up laundry powder. Wash your hands after using
- While baking soda is a food, please do not consume this baking soda as we can not rule out inadvertent cross contamination with our other dry ingredients as they are stored in close proximality.

Baking soda is mineral based and therefore no baking soda can not be organic in the true sense of the word. However, Figgy baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate.
Often asked, this question is confused with Baking powder. Baking soda is a pure single ingredient – sodium bicarbonate – and is free from Aluminium. Baking Powder is a mix of ingredients, with sodium bicarb being one of them. Baking powder often does have Aluminium added as a raising agent.
