The best part of The Figgy Sampler is our Recipe book. It is full of all the best tried and tested home cleaning recipes, with none of the waffle that can make you feel overwhelmed. When we starting making our own cleaners it was harder than we thought it needed to be. The internet was awash with substandard recipes that weren't based in cleaning science, others called for random ingredients that were hard to source.
We knew it could be so much better. DIY cleaning needed to be no fuss and easy to do - otherwise the good changes don't stick!
How the Figgy Sampler works for you
The Figgy Sampler is designed to let you try several made-by-you home cleaners, and decide what works well for your cleaning style in your home. You'll quickly find what your new go-to cleaners are.
We recommend starting with the recipe booklet that comes with your sampler. Have a flick through and decide what recipes you would like to try in your home, then allocate your ingredients accordingly. To make your ingredient go round further, make smaller batches of the recipes that call for more ingredients.
What you make will depend on how much of an ingredient is called for in the recipes you choose; some ingredients will last a very long time (e.g. essential oil; Home cleaning castile soap; Figgy bar soap) while others get used more often (e.g. baking soda; washing soda). For example, making a Bench spray will use a small amount of Home cleaning castile soap, baking soda and essential oil. Where as a large batch of Cleaning paste will use up your Home cleaning castile soap, baking soda and essential oil faster - and so you may want to make a smaller trial size of cleaning paste to keep your making options open!

Castile soap is a wonderful cleaner - It is the cleaning hero and secret sauce for our Figgy recipes. We make our Home cleaning castile soap to our own recipe and it is 100% detergent free. We use fair-trade coconut oil to make a gentle yet effective cleaning base. It's concentrated and really versatile covering off most of your non-toxic home cleaning.

The Figgy Sampler is all about the possibilities!
Use the Figgy & Co. recipe book and ingredients you get in your Figgy Sampler to make and try some new eco cleaners. The idea of this DIY cleaning kit is to ‘sample’ what DIY cleaners will work best at your home – find what you love and build them into your eco cleaning routine. Here is a suggestion to get you creative juices flowing and see just how much potential making there is in this ultimate DIY cleaning kit! How many different things you can make will depend on how big your batches are – your ingredients will go further if you stick to 1/2 or 1/3 size batches. Then you really get to sample a lot!
1. Use one glass trigger bottle to make a general purpose bench spray
2. Use the other glass trigger bottle to make a vinegar base cleaner (glass cleaner or disinfectant spray)
3. Use the glass pottle to make cleaning paste
4. Make dishwasher powder and use vinegar as your rinse aid
5. Make laundry powder and soaker and use vinegar as your fabric softener. Delicates can be washed with home cleaning castile soap
6. Cut the bar soap in half – use half in the laundry for pre-treating stains (it’s good for carpet and sofas too), use the other half for doing the dishes by hand
7. Use the Home cleaning castile soap for general cleaning: mopping floors, washing walls, washing windows. In a repurposed trigger bottle make the SOS spray for more heavy duty cleaning.
8. Make toilet cleaning powder or toilet bombs and also use home cleaning castile soap to clean here too
9. Use the citric acid to descale your kettle, deep clean the washing machine or dishwasher or treat water spots on shower glass.

Our pure essential oils are chosen not only for how lovely they make your cleaning experience but also because the have qualities like grease cutting & anti-bacterial properties. Each 10ml bottle comes with a dripolator and contains approximately 200 drops of whole plant essential oils
