Eucalyptus oil is a very familiar smell - there was a time when this oil was a staple in most homes. It has great sanitising properties which make it great for times when germs are around.
In the laundry, eucalyptus is particularly well known for washing woollens. It is said to keep blanket moths away, preventing holes in your woollens. Eucalyptus has antimicrobial properties which make it a good choice for using in your laundry for any kind of washing.
Eucalyptus blends well with other oils, especially citrus. Be cautious about using her in a spray on cleaner that would be used on delicate surfaces - Eucalyptus has been used to dissolve gum and left over adhesive - and it is this property that can damage wooden surfaces in particular.
As a bonus, if you are under the weather, eucalyptus oil is a wonderful addition to a hanky to help clear your nose and sinus!
